Lip Service [Private Relations 2] (Siren Publishing Classic) Page 11

Instead, they had plans to go to the beach tomorrow, so she’d be over around eight. It was probably for the best that he didn’t have to wake her up anyway, he thought with a grin. Her reaction the other morning when the alarm had gone off at 4:00 a.m. had been priceless. She’d thrown a pillow over her head and gone right back to sleep, grumbling at him.

She’d been a little more responsive when he said good-bye. She’d blinked at him then given him a kiss and told him to fly safe. Then she’d thrown the pillow back over her head and gone immediately back to sleep with a grumble. Chloe was apparently not a morning person. Her level of grumpiness was laughable.

Turning off the water, he stepped out of the shower and grabbed his towel. Drying off, he slid on a pair of gym shorts, then immediately crawled into bed. Idly wishing Chloe had come over tonight, he rolled over and set his alarm clock for seven thirty. Thoughts of Chloe running through his mind, he proceeded to pass out.

When the alarm went off the next day, he was feeling much more human now. Eager to start the day, he got ready. Chloe had promised lunch, so he said he’d provide breakfast. Looking through his fridge, he determined that they’d be most likely hitting a drive-thru on the way, because there was literally nothing in it.

Hearing a knock on the door, he closed the refrigerator and moved toward the front door. Opening it he blinked. She stood there in a pink sun dress, wearing those naughty librarian glasses again. She had pulled her hair into a clip.

On a groan, he dragged her immediately inside, his hand immediately nipping the clip out of her hair and tossing it to the side. Tangling his fingers in her hair now, he pulled her roughly against him and fused his mouth to hers.

She dropped her backpack and purse to the ground, then wrapped her arms around his neck with a moan. She pressed her body eagerly against his, her breasts brushing against his bare chest. He could tell instantly she didn’t have a bra on.

Continuing to ravage her mouth, he pressed her against the door. His hands stroked down her body as he pressed his erection against her stomach. She rolled her hips against him, a low whimper sounding at the back of her throat.

Not breaking the kiss, he boosted her up and helped her wrap her legs around his waist. Once her back was firmly pressed against the door, he ran his hands up her thighs pushing up the skirt of her dress.

Pulling his mouth away now, he glanced down and let out a groan of utter appreciation. She hadn’t put on any panties either. He never had any idea what to expect from her. She was fucking amazing.

Untying his board shorts and sliding them down, he said, “Fuck, Chloe. Tell me you’re ready for me. I’m going to explode if I’m not inside you soon.”

He moved his mouth to suck on her neck, to bite her shoulder, to put his mouth on anything of hers really. He was at the edge of his control and he hadn’t even gotten inside her yet. He was able to tell from her breathy little moans that she was pretty far gone, too.

“So ready, Chris. I need you inside me,” she said, pressing her hips against him urgently.

Letting the door support her weight, he moved one hand down to adjust his cock, sliding it against her opening. He teased them both now.

“Is this what you want?” he asked, his voice rough.

Her eyes intense now, she gave a shuddering moan and said, “You know it is.”

Giving them both what they desperately needed, he finally slid home. They both cried out at the sensation. Adjusting his hands to support her now, he said, “Let me know if I’m too rough.”

She pressed her hips forward, moaning, and softly said, “I like it when you’re rough.”

Jesus Christ. It was like her words set off an explosion inside him. He began thrusting in and out of her at a punishing pace, the door jarring behind them each time he slid in to the hilt. Hearing her cries of approval, he leaned his head down to scrape his teeth against her neck and shoulder.

She writhed against him now, thrusting her hips to meet his and crying out every time he pushed into her. Sinking his teeth into the sensitive spot where her neck met her shoulder, he heard her sharp intake of breath.

Tearing his mouth away from her, he grunted, “Fuck. Come, baby.”

He tightened his hands on her hips and began to slam into her now. He felt her clench and spasm around him as she screamed. He kept moving at the rapid-fire pace, until he felt her soften against him. Sliding out of her, he let her legs slide to the floor and then supported her while she regained her balance.

Still hard, he immediately steered her to the couch and roughly said, “Bend over. We’re not done yet.”

Not questioning the command, she immediately bent over, her ass swaying in the air slightly. He shoved the dress back over her hips, then wrapped a hand in her hair, tugging her head back as he slid back inside her. She moaned in response.

Reaching his other hand forward, he gripped her shoulder and began to thrust into her with the same rapid pace as before. Slamming himself into her, he said, “Fuck, Chloe. You feel so good.”

Releasing the hand in her hair, he grabbed both hips now and continued to pound into her. When he finally felt her tighten around him again, he groaned. Her back arched slightly as she moaned and climaxed around him.

He felt her squeeze at him like a vise. Hearing her whimper now as her climax stretched on, his hands tightened on her hips. Pounding against her now, he could feel his balls begin to tighten with his own impending release.

He said, “Fuck. Chloe,” his voice gravelly now.

His hips moved in jerky motions against hers. Then he finally thrust against her one last time, calling out her name as he exploded. Rolling his hips against her, utterly spent now, he leaned forward and briefly placed sloppy kisses against the back of her neck and said, “God damn.”

Sliding out of her, he pulled her to the other side of the couch and then flopped down immediately, pulling her with him. Cradling her in his lap, he pressed his lips to her shoulder.

Laughing a little, he said, “Hi there.”

Her voice a little scratchy, she said, “Hello to you too. Glad you’re back.”

Rubbing a hand up her back, he leaned back against the couch now and asked, “I wasn’t too rough, was I?”

Smiling like the Cheshire Cat, she said, “Uh-uh. That was exactly what I needed.”

Shifting against him to lay her head on his chest, she asked, “So how was your trip?”

Grimacing, he said, “Decent. It was way too hot though, and the flight back sucked. They didn’t have room for me to upgrade to business, so I was stuck next to a crying baby and an annoying old guy who wouldn’t stop talking to me. Seventh level of hell.”

Rubbing her hand over the back of his head, she said, “Well, you’re home now, and you got to sleep in your own bed.”

“And you’re here,” he said, smiling, “which helps. I missed you.”

He looked down at her now, and saw her smile.

“I missed you too. I wasn’t sure if it would be too weird to say it,” she said hesitantly.

Shaking his head, he said, “I don’t know what’s normal, here, to be totally honest.”

Shrugging against him, she said, “Me either. I guess we’ll figure it out as we go. So, I hate to be indelicate here, but I’m kind of dripping all over your couch. I’m gonna go clean up,” Chloe said, scooting off his lap.

Smirking, he said, “By all means.”

He watched her get up, grab her bag, and then move into the guest bath.

Getting up himself now, he slid back into his board shorts and wandered into his bedroom to grab a T-shirt. Picking up the gym bag he’d packed for himself, he slid on his flip-flops and moved back to the living room.

He found her fully dressed now, waiting.

Curious now, he asked, “I’m assuming you had a plan there? No panties or bra?”

Smiling sheepishly, she said, “Yeah. If you hadn’t jumped on me the moment I walked in the door, then I would have jumped on you.”
>
“Good to know I wasn’t alone there. Ready to get going?”

“Yeah,” she said. “By the way, Deacon wanted to know if we wanted to go out tonight. He and Sara were going to the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Dinner, then maybe drinks and wandering around.”

  “Want to?” he asked.

“Maybe. I’m tempted to skip the beach and spend the rest of the day and night with you in bed. I suppose we could go out and be social, though,” she said.

“That sounds like an excellent plan, actually. Being social is so highly overrated,” he argued as they walked out his front door. He turned now to lock it despite the seriousness of his tone.

Dropping his gym bag to the ground, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her to him. Placing a light kiss on her lips, he said, “But it would be nice to go out tonight. We’ve not actually been on a date, ya know? Just our places and Deacon’s.”

“I hadn’t thought about that, but I guess you’re right,” she said, thoughtfully.

  “Wow, I’m easy.”

Chris immediately shot her a “get serious” look and asked, “You don’t really think that, do you?”

Smirking, she shook her head and said, “Hardly. I feel like this has been brewing between us for a little while, looking back on it.”

Nodding in agreement, Chris said, “It has. I am glad you started putting yourself in my way a little bit more.”

Tilting her head, she said, “You noticed that, huh?”

“Inviting yourself out on my boat, prancing around in that bikini. I noticed. The suntan lotion? I thought you were trying to kill me,” he said, smirking at himself now.

“Yeah. Like you weren’t into the idea. I seem to recall you pressing yourself up against me while you helped me drive the boat,” she snorted, making air quotes.

“I do maintain that your driving record is spotty, but yeah. I didn’t mind using that as an excuse to have you pressed up against me,” he said, smiling almost sheepishly now.

“You don’t need an excuse anymore,” she said, standing on her tiptoes to press her lips to his.

Smiling against her lips now, he said, “I know,” and then tilted his head to deepen the kiss.

Hearing her moan of appreciation, he very strongly considered dragging her back inside for a moment, before he released her and said, “Come on. Let’s go. It’s too nice outside to stay inside today.”

Pulling out of his embrace, she dug through her bag for her keys then said, “You’re right. Let me go grab the cooler.”

Once she had located them and started walking to the car, he followed, and said, “So what’s for lunch today?”

She eyed him and asked, “What’s for breakfast?”

  Wincing, he asked, “Donuts?”

Laughing, she said, “Pastrami and swiss on rye. Fresh fruit.”

When she had popped the trunk, he snagged the cooler and said, “Awesome.”

Walking back to his car, he put the cooler and her bag in the trunk along with his, then opened her door. Brushing his lips against hers, he said, “I hope you put a suit on under that.”

Nodding, she said, “I did,” as she slid into the car.

Closing the door, he moved around the other side and got behind the wheel.

Looking at her, he said, “Donuts?”

  Chapter 15

Chloe was just putting the finishing touches on her makeup when Chris walked into the master bathroom. He stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. She eyed him in the mirror, taking a minute to appreciate his sense of style. He was wearing a light blue button-down shirt, rolled up at the cuffs and a pair of jeans. His blue eyes were even more pronounced. She smiled at him in the mirror.

Gesturing toward the makeup on the counter, he said, “You don’t need to do that. You’re beautiful without all that stuff,” then rested his chin on the top of her head.

Smiling, she said, “My nose is bright red right now. I put it on so I didn’t look like a Rudolph. But thank you. That’s incredibly sweet of you to say.”

Turning around in his arms to face him now, she smiled and said, “I like that color on you,” then stood on tiptoes to brush her lips against his.

Leaning back, she added, “You’re a little burnt, too. That’s totally going to peel.”

Grimacing, Chris said, “Fun. The beach was a great idea, Chloe. Thanks for suggesting it.”

Giving him a dirty look, she turned back around to finish putting on her lip gloss.

He watched her, shaking his head, and then said, “Oh! I forgot.”

She watching him walk out of the room with purpose. Picking up her perfume, she spritzed herself lightly, then started to pack away her makeup. When he returned, he had a small bag in hand.

He set it on the counter and said, “For you.”

She eyed him curiously in the mirror and said, “What is it?”

“Just open it,” he said, rolling his eyes.

When she opened the little bag, there was a little ceramic cactus that sat atop a pile of sand. It was a tacky lime green and bore absolutely no resemblance to an actual cactus.

“You brought me back Phoenix,” she said, grinning now.

Setting it down, she turned to face him now as he joked, “Arguably the best part, considering it got to leave.”

“Thank you,” she said, sliding her arms around his neck, “You really didn’t have to do that.”

“Your travel experience is sadly lacking. Ordinarily, I’d suggest you see everything you can, while you can, but in this case, I really do feel like it this is close enough.”

Chris pulled his phone out of his pocket and said, “We should get moving. We’re going to be late.”

“Kay. One more minute,” Chloe said as she straightened the straps of her black tank top and the dark gray gauzy skirt she wore. Pushing the makeup back into its bag, she added, “I just need shoes, my sweater and purse.”

A few minutes later, they made their way out to the car. They had agreed to meet Deacon and Sara at a small Italian restaurant just outside the promenade in Santa Monica called Il Pescatore. She hadn’t been there before, but she trusted Sara about all matters concerning food, so she was willing to chance it.

Once they were on the way, Chloe reached over and put her hand on his thigh. He moved his hand briefly off the shifter to squeeze hers before he went back to driving, which made her smile.

When they’d gotten home from the beach, they’d rinsed all the sand off, then gone to take a nap. Even though she’d been awake for a little while now, she was still feeling incredibly relaxed. Maybe relaxed wasn’t the right word. Content? She thought about that for a moment when Chris spoke, breaking into her thoughts.

Chris glanced over at her and said, “You’re quiet all the sudden. You okay?”

“Yeah,” she said, glancing at him. “I’m fine. Just zoned out. I’m so relaxed right now.”

  Nodding, he said, “Me too.”

The rest of the drive passed in comfortable silence, both of them apparently lost in thought as Chris navigated them through the stop-and-go-traffic of Downtown Santa Monica.

As they were turning onto the street where the restaurant was, Chloe said, “Sara said they had a private parking lot. No street parking required, at least.”

“Thank Christ,” he grumbled. “I’m feeling much less relaxed now.”

When they pulled into the lot and parked, she grinned and said, “If you’re still tense later, I’ll give you a rub down.”

Tilting his head, he asked, “Oh really?”

Sliding her hand up his thigh she said, “Yes, really.”

Unbuckling his seat belt, he leaned over and pressed his lips to hers. Sighing, she allowed him to deepen the kiss. When he slid his hand into her hair, she angled herself toward him, trying to press against him.

The moment his hands began to drift lower, her phone rang. Breaking the kiss regretfully, Chloe reached into her bag and said, “Sara.”
/>
Answering, she said, “Hi. We just pulled into the lot. We’ll be in in a second.”

Pausing, she said, “Kay. See ya.”

Looking at Chris, she said, “They got a table. And you’re wearing pink lip gloss now. You should fix that.”

Sighing, he said, “See. That’s what I meant. No need for that stuff.”

Eyebrows raised now, she smirked and said, “I see what’s going on here. I thought you were being all sweet to me, but really it was about not having to wear my lip gloss.”

She passed him a tissue from her travel pack and said, “Here.”

“Wait, wait, wait,” he said, holding up his hand.

Curious now, she waited for him to speak.

“Do you really think I’d even entertain the possibility of destroying multiple friendships if there was any way I could have resisted you? The looks are part of it,” he said, reaching out to touch her face, then shaking his head, “But you just really have no idea.”

Her heart fluttering wildly in her chest now, she leaned forward and said, “Sorry, but you’re going to have to wipe off my lip gloss again in a minute,” then pressed her mouth to his.

Though the kiss was brief, her heart continued to pound.

He rested his forehead against hers and said, “So could we have a no lip gloss rule, please?”

“Only if you’re not planning to enforce it,” she said with a grin.

Moving back, he inspected himself in the rear view mirror. Wiping the last of her lip gloss off his mouth, he said, “We better go inside now before—”

His phone rang. Looking down, he said, “Deacon.”

Silencing it, he said, “They’re going to send out a search party.”

  Smirking, Chloe said, “Probably.”

They got out of the car, and walked hand in hand into the restaurant. After Chris told the hostess that they were meeting someone, she directed them back to the table where Deacon and Sara were waiting.

Sitting down, they exchanged greetings and quickly looked through the menu.

Deacon said, “You guys are sun burnt. Take the boat out?”
